Windows System Administrator 6 months project in Holtsville, New York Pay Rate 30 Hr W2 (with no benefits) Position Overview Primary duties will be first and second level helpdesk support as well as configuration, implementation, support, and maintenance of client internal and external network and application infrastructures.

The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for technology and a willingness to learn.

Core infrastructure such as name services, server, storage and network administration are key technical competencies of this role.

Essential Job Functions Under limited supervision, responsible for configuring and maintaining Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Firewalls, VPNs, security, Office 365, Exchange Mail Servers, DNS Management, Network Administration, Helpdesk for desktops and servers, configuration management, and providing support services to our development team.

Provides IT operations functions to offices for the organizationrsquos standard hardware, software and voice data network solutions.

Have solid foundational skillset in Windows Server Management Web servers, specifically Microsoft IIS Routeswitch, TCPIP, DNS, Wireless, and other core network services.

Firewall, VPN configuration, and network security knowledge.

SQL Server, Database AdministrationTuning, DB replication, and DB Security.

Identity and access management, Remote access, SSH, SFTP, Citrix, Terminal server, and related experience.

Event log management, malware prevention, and Security Policy Enforcement and general IT security knowledge.

VMWare Virtual machines.

Office 365 Application suite Microsoft Collaboration Tools ndash Specifically Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook Microsoft Office Technical expertise
– Strong knowledge of Office365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio.

Training ndash Strong end user technical training experience to create, conduct, support internal Microsoft Office training sessions for internal clients.

Specific required related to vendor equipment and software Meraki routers, switches, firewalls.

Avaya voice systems.

Provides On-Call support as required Weekend Work Required for scheduled downtime for patching and upgrades Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills Qualifications Demonstrated experience with standard software applications, including MS Office, Antivirus Software (Barracuda, Sophos), Windows and Windows Server operating systems.

Knowledge of network routers, firewalls, switches and their configuration, and network protocols, terms and concepts.

Meraki Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Access Points, Cameras DNS DHCP Active Directory Domain Controllers Wireless APrsquos WAN ndash MPLS, Broadband, Cellular Web servers etc Demonstrated experience with VMWare server virtualization Demonstrated experience with the support and troubleshooting of personal computers.

Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users, via VPN and or Citrix.

Experience with Avaya telephony applications and systems or other VOIP systems.

Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.

Must have a strong dedication to customer service as well as a deep sense of problem ownership and responsibility.

Experience with Linux, and Microsoft SQL server a plus.

End user training abilityexperience a plus.

EducationExperience Requirements Associatersquos Degree from an accredited college in computer science, computer information systems or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and relevant work experience.

IT certifications a plus.

PhysicalMental Demands Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent leadership qualities and presentation skills.

Basic understanding of the companyrsquos business practices and familiarity with the companyrsquos products and services.

Strong analytical skills and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications.

Ability to meet timelines and work well in a team environment.

Work Environment Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.

Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc., withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.

Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, and be able to access all areas of the property.

Occasional work performed alone.
