Lighthouse Technology Services is seeking a Linux Engineer with Telecom for a Direct Hire role in Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities Include Definition and management of the network and telephony components of the Solutions within the Unified Communications field.

This includes discovery, design and development of telecommunications systems, network, and applications and performance of complex tasks related to systems and network operations.

Design the telecommunications and networking required to integrate client’s engineered solutions into customerrsquos environments.

Conduct site surveys and inquiries including performance analysis and capacity assessments of proposed solutions to gather the information required to produce design documents.

Produce design documents and diagrams that describe the telecommunications and networking details required to implement clientrsquos solutions.

Establishes communications flow of voice and data over network circuits and equipment.

Plans network installations by preparing accurate technical specifications and installation schematics Provides documented test cases to validate audio traffic capture including digital RTP, and SIP protocols and the various Codec versions Specify and produce order sheets for all purchased components of the Solution engineered for specific customers.

Manage vendors that supply critical components to insure no shortages or field defects Provide technical support of IP telephony, voicemail, and unified messaging systems and applications, Call Recording, Outbound Dialer(s), IVRrsquos, CTIScreen Pops, and other integrated call center solutions.

Conduct complex problem resolution within the Telecommunicationrsquos infrastructure Write standard operating procedures and guidelines for areas of responsibility.

Required Skills Include Advanced Proficiency in UnixLinux and a C++ software development.

B.S.

in computer science or equivalent and 5 years work experience minimum 4 years experience with VoIP network technologies Experience deploying and supporting MPLS networks, including configuration and troubleshooting of layer 2 CoS and layer 3 QoS methodologies.

Advanced working knowledge of BGP, OSPF and associated IP routing protocols Advanced knowledge of telecom transport topologies and technologies including but not limited to SONET, Ethernet over SONET, DS3, Metro Ethernet, etc .

Experience deploying and supporting SIP-based VoIP solutions, including SBC topology design.

Considerable working knowledge of Telephony applications and solutions (CTI protocols TSAPI, TAPI, JTAPI, etc).

Considerable working knowledge of implementing and maintaining IP Phones and IP gateways (i.e.

DHCP Scope Options, 802.1pq, HTTP, TFTP, H.225, H.245, H.323, G.711, G.729, G.722, QoS, SIP).

Experience with multi-site IP PBX Infrastructures (i.e.

Avaya Communication ManagersAura in ESS andor LSP, AuraModular Messaging, Avaya Application Enablement Service (AES), Call Accounting systems, etc.).

Experience and considerable working knowledge of call center technologies such as ACD, Call Management Systems integration, Outbound Dialers, Quality Monitoring (QM)Recording Systems, IVRrsquos.

Telecommunications Knowledge, Telecommunications Technologies, Technical Understanding, Technical Zeal, Technical Documentation, Attention to Detail, Independence, Functional and Technical Skills, Dealing with Complexity, Decision Making, Operating Systems Excellent oral and written communications Personal organization to ensure timely updates of project tickets, tasks, etc Excellent time management Positive teamwork Troubleshooting and problem solving Reliable transportation during and after business hours for office and offsite work and potentially customer facilities Internet and phone connectivity at home or the ability to receive cellular data signal for voice data to support after hours and on call duties
