This position is focused on analyzing code and the environment in which its hosted to troubleshoot software, data, cloud hosting and configuration issues for the Tyler applications according to technical specifications and system designs.

This position is part of a group which provides 7 x 24 support coverage and will require the Application Support Engineer to work and be on-call for different shifts.

From school ERP to student information and transportation, you can help districts of all sizes achieve more by improving transparency between parents and schools, advancing operations, and enabling data-driven decisions.

Location Latham, New York Responsibilities Work with internal and external customers on resolving complex technical issues.

Participates in diagnosing, analyzing and troubleshooting production environment issues, documenting and implementing functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems.

Assist Support Specialists, Implementation Specialists, and Project Managers in establishing issue priorities to ensure a timely and effective response and solution.

Analyze and resolve customer issues, escalating to other departments as identified.

Serve as escalation path for Technical Support Specialists, working on the most complex andor urgent support incidents.

Produce internal support documentation as needed.

Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that will spanning multiple applications and environments Troubleshoot application deployments, recreate customer issues, and build proof of concept applications.

Write and interpret configuration scripts for customer environments to install programs, configure logging, and modify configuration files.

Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns and suggest fixes.

Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions depending on customer use cases.

Qualifications BSBA degree in related field or equivalent experience is required.

Demonstrated knowledge of software development practices, computer science theory, and understanding of relevant technologies.

Professional work experience with the following technologies .Net C (or similar high-level language)
– Desired SQL Server 20122016 (or equivalent Database)
– Required Cloud Hosting Experience with AWS or Azure
– Highly Desired Powershell
– Required JSONXMLXSDXSLT
– Desired Proficient knowledge of MS servers, virtualization, data storage, networking.

Proficient knowledge of scripting using languages such as Powershell, C Experience with cloud hosting
– especially in the realm of Performance Monitoring, Data security, Backup and Recovery procedures.

Excellent analytical, communication and customer service skills required.

Ability to multi-task.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to test and write scripts in reasonable timeframes.

Demonstrated basic understanding of product architecture and all underlying technologies.

Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills, teamwork and customer service skills.
