– Bachelor’s of Nursing
– BLS/AED Certification from AHA (current)
– NYS Registered Nurse License Position Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse diploma or college program.
BSN required.
Must complete Wound Care Center orientation program successfully.
Two years experience in an acute care setting.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Word Processing and Data Entry skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and negotiating skills.
Licensed and currently registered or otherwise duly authorized to practice as a professional nurse in New York State.
WOCN certification required or obtained within 18 months of hire.
Position Responsibilities: The Wound Care Specialist is an RN, under the direction of the Director of Nursing Education, Development & Research.
The RN communicates and collaborates closely with physicians and other members of the health care team to provide consistent quality care for patients with wounds.
Working with a high degree of autonomy the RN accepts responsibility and autonomy for assigned patients as a case manager to plan, implement and evaluate care for adults and geriatric patients as well as documentation and data collection.
