Attending Consultation/Liaison Psychiatrist in New York City Hospital with Significant Perinatal Population � Forest Hills Hospital Northwell Health�s Behavioral Health Service Line is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist to join our Consultation/Liaison (C/L) Psychiatry team at its Long Island Jewish Hospital at Forest Hills (LIJ-Forest Hills) site.�� The C/L Service provides psychiatric assessment and treatment to hospitalized adult medical-surgical inpatients including a large labor and delivery service; teaching and supervision to medical residents and other medical and allied health professional trainees, and is academically and administratively linked to the Department of Psychiatry and the C/L Service at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
� The successful candidate will be an energetic and engaged clinician with good communication skills and experience and/or interest in C/L Psychiatry.� A completed C/L Psychiatry Fellowship is preferred, and new fellowship graduates are encouraged to apply.� Opportunities also exist for emerging departmental leadership roles and participation in diverse hospital committees.
LIJ-Forest Hills is a 312-bed community teaching hospital that provides inpatient medical and�surgical care, intensive care, and obstetrics and gynecology services.
The hospital is designated as a�Level II Perinatal Center.� Its Emergency Department (ED) is a 911 receiving site, a certified heart station, as�well as a New York State-designated Stroke Center.� Patients presenting in the ED with psychiatric complaints are evaluated and adjudicated by Northwell�s central emergency telepsychiatry �hub.� In 2017 at LIJ-Forest Hills, there were approximately 16,500 inpatient discharges, including 2,000 women who delivered babies at the hospital;�more than 55,000 ED visits, and 4,000 ambulatory surgery procedures.
