Staff Accountant (Start-up)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce has a client that is searching for a Staff Accountant to join their team in our New York City, NY headquarters.

To be successful in this position you will be a strategic individual with managerial accounting, operations and financial management experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Specific responsibilities will include the following: Maintain supporting documentation, schedules, and reconciliations for all major operating cycles, including cash, A/R, A/P, Payroll, Inventory, COGS, deferred revenue, and others Improve departmental processes and procedures to expedite the close process while ensuring accuracy of financial information Review significant vendor contracts, and manage A/P and vendor payment process, including yearly 1099 filings Assist with the payroll process, while creating and reviewing agreements for consultants Prepare the company for an annual audit and work in collaboration with tax partners to file returns and required sales tax filings Support various ad hoc projects and analysis for management, including forecasts, budgets, and account analysis Investigate discrepancies and provide variance explanations through analysis of performance drivers Prepares journal entries and maintains records, files, and reconciliations Assist with system selection, migration, and implementation of new systems Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential REQUIREMENTS: Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Majors preferred 4 years of experience Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks & NetSuite Experience working in an inventory based CPG company Highly organized team player Strong analytical skills, organized, and detail oriented Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
