Job Description: Description of Department: The Department of Technology, within the School of Education, offers programs in Technology Education, Technology Management, and a Technology Minor.

Eight full time faculty and a statewide contingent of adjuncts deliver dynamic professional and technical course offerings to about 210 undergraduate and graduate students preparing for careers as technology and engineering educators or as managers in business and industry.

Our programs contain a combination of professional and laboratory-based courses where students develop skills in a variety of advanced technologies and practices.

Date of Appointment: August 2020 Description of Responsibilities: The Visiting Assistant Professor of Technology will: Instruct laboratory coursework in areas that may include technical drawing, design, CAD, electronics, materials processing, energy technologies, biotechnology, manufacturing, communications, construction, or transportation technologies depending on area of expertise.

Assume responsibilities for instructional laboratory management.

Engage in opportunities to provide leadership with developing and delivering technology programs that promote global awareness, sustainability, diversity, and inclusion.

Initiate, develop, and participate in partnerships with schools, professional organizations, and industries in New York State and nationally.

Provide academic advisement for undergraduate students.

Participate in department, school, and college service.

Commit to research and scholarship in technology education.

Requirements: Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in Technology Education, Industrial Technology, Industrial Design, or a closely related field by time of appointment Ability to teach hands-on coursework in a laboratory environment.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty and students.

Demonstrated interest or engagement with social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion issues, through professional, community, or teaching experience.

Preferred Qualification: Postsecondary teaching experience.

Ability to teach coursework in technical writing and/or technology and society.
