Position SummaryThe primary function of this position is the development of primary and secondary packaging for the Hair category.This position will author packaging specifications for primary & secondary packaging for the Hair category.The position will be a key contributor as part of Brand project teams in the activities required for regional package development.The position will also interface with Manufacturing and Supply Chain for packaging related projects including line trials, production start-ups, VIP, improving line efficiencies related to packaging as well as resolving documentation issues for specifications.Position ResponsibilitiesManage assigned Package Development projects, with minimal guidance, working with Brand project teams, to meet category objectives and project ship to trade dates.Provide packaging options, develop, engineer, test packaging components and modify as necessary to meet: customer requirements, functional parameters, cost targets, manufacturing & shipping requirements.Provide technical input to package design process and assure package design for manufacturing acceptability, while realizing desirable consumer & Brand packaging elements.Develop and obtain information to approve packaging components plus write and issue packaging specifications and documentation, within required timelines.Deliver effectively in a cross-functional team environment by working with global Package Development counterparts, suppliers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Brand teams.ChallengesMust be able to effectively organize and manage workflow of multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.Must be able to demonstrate a general understanding of project management to realize the order, importance, and impact of appropriate project activities and maintain Packaging commitments to project scheduling.Must be able to communicate issues effectively to technical and non-technical personnel. (Brand, Finance, Creative, Manufacturing)Must be able to work effectively with regional and/or global teams composed of individuals with technical and non-technical backgrounds & perspectives.Must understand consumer, business, and category needs and the relationship to packaging decisions & execution.ScopeThis position interacts daily with the entire Packaging group, R&D, and Supply Chain groups across HPC. Effective execution of projects is vital to timely product launches for achieving category growth.Skills and CompetenciesB.S. DegreeMust demonstrate understanding of package development process and engineering principles.Must demonstrate ability to design and develop primary and secondary packaging components, with minimal guidance, that meet consumer, Brand, customer, and manufacturing objectives.Must have operable computer software skills: Word processing (Word), Spreadsheets (Excel), Presentations (PowerPoint), email(Outlook)Effective verbal & written communication skills.Knowledge and basic technical competence in fabrication of plastic components: Injection molding & Blow molding.Knowledge and technical competence in package materials converting & decoration: Labels, cartons, films, tubes etc.Interspec system experience and knowledge of packaging process related to BOMs and specifications is a plus.Supply Chain knowledge related to packaging filling lines and Packaging QA.Must have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and operate well in a team environment.Must operate in an ethical manner, exhibiting self-confident integrity demonstrating a positive approach to conduct & communications.Capable of providing solutions to problems associated with package design/engineering and manufacturing challenges.Effective communication skills to communicate on a technical and non-technical level to other departments, outside vendors, and globalAbility to verbally communicate technical information and conduct meetings with technical and non-technical personnel ofAbility to write concise yet appropriately detailed memos and reports.Must be a self-starter and assume role of credible technical packaging representative on project teams.Must work well in a team environment consisting of technical and non-technical members and strive to achieve team deliverables.Aptitude towards creative thinking and action oriented.Entrepreneurial team spirit is desired with positive approach to problem solving.Ability to assess and prevent problems from occurring with proper evaluation and testing.Experis is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE/AA)- provided by Dice
