The Department of Occupational Therapy at Ithaca College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible assistant professor position to teach undergraduate and graduate courses beginning August 16, 2020.

We encourage applications from candidates with a commitment to issues of equity and inclusion in higher education who would like to join us in creating opportunities for successful teaching and mentoring of all occupational therapy students, including first-generation college students, students with disabilities, racial and ethnic minority students, LGBTQ students, and low-income students.

The successful candidate will teach within their area of expertise, advise and mentor students, maintain a line of scholarly inquiry, and participate in the life of the college through service to the college, department, and profession.

Being a faculty member in the Ithaca College Occupational Therapy Department allows for engagement in many possible opportunities, including:
• Developing experiential learning activities in the classroom and in onsite pediatric and adult clinics
• Engaging with the community through affiliated clinical settings and service learning activities
• Collaborating on research with undergraduate and graduate students
• Participating in interprofessional teaching and scholarship activities
• Contributing to curriculum design and development.

The successful candidate will also have access to campus and community opportunities including:
• Working with collegial and supportive colleagues at the program, school, and college level
• Engaging with undergraduate and graduate level students at a college with a strong commitment to teaching excellence and a liberal arts core curriculum
• Accessing teaching and technology support and training through the Center for Faculty Excellence and the Teaching and Learning Center
• Living in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region, with numerous art, cultural, and outdoor activities available year round Qualifications Certified OTR and licensed or license-eligible in New York state; a minimum of three years of clinical experience; and an earned doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related field (ABD may be considered).

Special consideration will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience.
